In 2017 we undertook a desktop review of contemporary gambling harm minimisation policies and initiatives developed since the previous independent review of the social and economic impact of gambling in Tasmania. This analysis was informed the the Liquor and Gaming Commission's review of Tasmania’s Responsible Gambling Mandatory Code of Practice.
The resulting report identified contemporary gambling harm minimisation policies and initiatives of other Australian and international jurisdictions, and compared them to Tasmania’s Responsible Gambling Mandatory Code of Practice. It also provided a brief summary of the findings of a number of identified general research studies that were relevant for assessing the effectiveness of various harm minimisation measures.
We were engaged in 2021 to undertake a similar review.
