Stenning & Associates developed a report titled Measuring Red Tape - Understanding the Compliance Burden on Tasmanian businesses. This report was used to inform the Tasmanian Government's Red Tape Action Plan.
The project involved analysing the legislative environment facing Tasmanian businesses and then conducting an online survey of the broad compliance burden costs on business. This was followed by in-depth interviews to gather several detailed Regulatory Change Measurement analyses on specific regulatory areas.
The online survey was, to our knowledge, one of the most comprehensive business compliance surveys ever conducted in Australia. It attracted 771 responses, of whom over half provided detailed information on at least one state-based regulatory area.
